Election

Indiana Governor Mike Pence has reportedly been chosen as Donald Trump’s VP running mate. How is Pence on guns?

Can we have a Pence/Trump ticket, instead of a Trump/Pence ticket?

Enemies

“We will expand background checks and close dangerous loopholes in our current laws, hold irresponsible dealers and manufacturers accountable, keep weapons of war—such as assault weapons (sic)—off our streets…” — from the draft 2016 Democratic Party Platform, released July 1.

(Note that “weapons of war” are the type specifically protected by the Second Amendment. — JP)

unarmed community

The RINO national convention is also banning guns at its event, even though they are legal under Ohio state law. Cleveland’s police chief says his department will honor the state’s open carry law. But our report indicates there will be two rings of security outside the convention. No guns will be allowed in a secure zone inside the convention site and a “semi-secure” area right outside it, controlled by the Secret Service. In a still larger area outside the event, guns will be permitted in accordance with Ohio law, but other items — including knives, paintball guns, and umbrellas with sharp tips, will be prohibited, officials said.

Meanwhile, faux group “Citizens Against Senseless Violence” exposes the antigunners for what they are — hypocrites.

Liars

“We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer, or even a book.” — President Barack Hussein Obama

The Founding Fathers

So the founding fathers couldn’t have envisioned repeating “assault rifles” when they adopted the Second Amendment?

Police Chiefs: Armed Citizens Reduce Crime

Dallas

It turns out that the perp who killed the cops in Dallas got his gun through a Facebook arrangement.

But, but, but…. Facebook bans guns, gun talk, gun pictures, legal gun advertising and pretty much any factual conservative content.

Navy: Armed guards reduce homicides

The US Navy will be placing armed, uniformed sailor guards at recruiting stations nationwide. But allowing service members and recruiters to carry their personal firearms to work for their protection is not being considered, “because of the nature of their mission it’s something less than ideal to have every recruiter armed when their mission is engagement with the public.” — Cmdr. Dave Aliberti, policy branch head for Fleet Forces Command’s anti-terrorism, force protection directorate

That’s why we have concealed carry, Commander.

Anti-gun Centers For Disease Control: More guns don’t equal more homicides

Lamestream media

CNN whined at the Dallas police shooting memorial service about 11 mass shootings that have occurred on President Obama’s watch, but failed to mention the little detail that all but one (the Dallas incident) happened at gun free zones.

About Black vs. White crime, and the erroneous “movement”

The movement claims to be based in the belief that there is substantial, and rampant, racism throughout law enforcement nationwide.

But:

Black people commit a grossly disproportionate amount of crime. Data from the FBI shows that nationwide, blacks committed 5,173 homicides in 2014, while whites committed 4,367. The US population is about 75% white and about 12% black.

The breakdown of the number of US citizens killed by police so far this year is, 238 whites, 123 blacks, 79 hispanics, 69 other/or unknown race. In 2015, the numbers were 493 white, 258 black, 236 hispanic/other. In other words, about as many whites killed as all other races combined.

Now go find another cause not based on racism. That’s just a fake excuse for acting up.

Scummy SCOTUS justice

Ultra-liberal US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg has now repeatedly expressed her abhorrence of the possibility that Donald Trump might win the presidency. Folks in the know say that is an ethical breach for a SCOTUS justice, and that she presumably would have to recuse herself from any future case involving the Trump administration. Don’t hold your breath.

Scummy AG

US Attorney General Loretta Lynch refused to answer questions by congressmen over 74 times during her “Hillary hearing” before the House Judiciary Committee this week, prompting Rep. David Trott (R-MI) to conclude, “It’s one of two things: Either you’re saying that to avoid the appearance of impropriety in which case you should have recused yourself, or you’re trying to protect Hillary Clinton.”

Exploding cameras

In Harlan County, KY, at least three game cameras have been found to be filled with explosives, believed to be used to combat theft of the cameras. One was reported to have injured an innocent buyer of a used game camera.

The science behind delayed post-incident interviews

Very good advice about reacting to terrorist attacks, from Farnam

Read this. Don’t listen to “authorities” who tell you different.

“In my opinion, short of having armed guards or law enforcement in every possible place where a terrorist might show up, CCW remains the only viable option we have to protect our space. What’s more, they are going to do it whether local, state, federal government or LE want them to or not. The right of self protection cannot be ignored or slighted… The best option, in my mind, is for LE and government to treat CCW holders as a valuable, volunteer resource…” — Ron Avery (source: PoliceOne)

DGUs

In DeSoto, TX (Dallas), a man armed with an AK-style rifle robbed numerous customers and the restaurant at a Waffle House. But one customer followed the crook into the parking lot because he was afraid for the safety of his wife, who was on her way to the restaurant. He called out to the robber, who turned and pointed the rifle at him, police said. The customer then shot the robber several times with his CCW pistol. The unidentified robbery “suspect” was taken to a hospital, where he is on life support at your expense.

From Nice, France: Good guys with guns stop terrorist named Mohamed with truck. 84 or more dead (many were Muslim). One by gunshot (the perp). The city has 1,200 security cameras. Didn’t help.

The Only Ones

For the second time in a month, an employee has been arrested for taking a handgun on to the secured grounds of US Department of Homeland Security headquarters in Washington, D.C. The gun was found in the possession of a contract employee during a “random employee screening.”

If you don’t trust someone to not shoot you, why would you hire him in the first place?

Portland, OR, Police Chief Larry O’Dea was placed on administrative leave while under investigation for possibly providing false or misleading information concerning an accidental shooting in April. A hunting companion was shot with a .22 rifle, apparently fired by O’Dea, while the victim, O’Dea, two retired police officers and other friends were “sitting around a makeshift campsite, drinking beer and shooting at squirrels.”

Obit

Walt Rauch was in U.S. Army Intelligence, the U.S. Secret Service, Philadelphia PD Felony Squad, and a private detective in Philadelphia. He wrote a couple of books and was also a writer and lecturer in the firearms field, published regularly in national and international publications, including Combat Handguns, Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement, Petersen’s Handguns, Guns & Ammo specialty magazines, S.W.A.T. Magazine, Police and Security News, Cibles (France) and Visier (Germany). Rauch died Thursday, July 7 from complications of a stroke.

Shooter TV update

USA Network has decided to postpone the premiere of its forthcoming series Shooter, based on Stephen Hunter’s Bob Lee Swagger character. The premiere date for the 10-episode first season sniper drama series, which opens with the sound of a gunshot along with real-life images of historical shooting incidents, was originally set for 10 p.m. ET/PT on Tuesday, July 19, but now will be postponed a week until Tuesday, July 26. Why? Dallas.

FBI pistols

After the FBI chose Glock to supply its next round of service pistols, we received information that those familiar with the selection process report that extensive testing clearly revealed that no other pistol tested came close to Glock with regard to durability. We don’t know how big a selection factor that finding was, but if your gun doesn’t go bang, the only other thing that matters is how well you can throw it.
