Gun Control

So You Want Gun Control? Choke On It.

Litigation

Kystie Jaehnen was hailed as a hero after she saved the life of an off-duty Indiana conservation officer under attack by an assailant under the influence of meth, marijuana, and other drugs. She and the victim have now been sued for wrongful death by the crook’s family. May I suggest a counter suit and a box of ammo?

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services has been named in a federal lawsuit filed this week challenging the agency’s firearms policy for home day cares, which prohibit possession of loaded handguns by licensed adults in a home while operating the daycare.

Enemies

Dick’s Destroying Guns:

After announcing policies to restrict otherwise legal long gun sales from buyers under 21, and ban sales of bump stocks, “assault weapons” and normal capacity magazines, Dick’s Sporting Goods said the remaining inventory at the retailer’s Field & Streams stores will be destroyed and then recycled. Following the deadly Sandy Hook school shooting, Dick’s stopped selling AR-style firearms at its Dick’s-branded stores but continued selling them at the Field & Stream locations. CEO Ed Stack, who donated $300,000 of his own money to an anti-gunners’ PAC in 2016, said Dick’s is prepared for the social and possible financial backlash.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. says it is “limiting” its business relations with gunmakers.

The “fiend” who committed one of the most infamous mass shootings in NYC history — the “Palm Sunday Massacre” that left eight children and two young moms dead in Brooklyn in 1984 — has been quietly released for “good behavior.” Do you think he will obey the “prohibited person” gun ban laws?

We have word that the recently opened Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and its sister Museum of Mississippi History, have metal detectors in place to ensure that they can violate the civil rights of patrons by disarming them. A government civil rights museum violating civil rights. We lost 150 years somewhere.

The National Parent Teacher Association is pushing gun control.

The American Federation of Teachers has severed ties with Wells Fargo because WF also has the NRA and some gun companies as banking customers.

Both of those are socialist organizations.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police, representing 18,000 chiefs across the US, has sent letters to Congress opposing your right to carry a gun with a state-issued carry permit. But they still want to carry theirs, including off duty.

New York Gov. Cuomo’s administration is urging banks and insurance companies in New York to discontinue doing business with the National Rifle Association and the gun industry or “other promoters of guns.” The state’s pension fund has also already sent letters to credit card companies urging them to crack down on gun purchases. Such extortion and collusion would seem to be clear RICO Act violations.

Friends

Western Pennsylvania’s Butler County Sheriff Michael Slupe has issued an order to his department to not conduct county sheriff business with any of the corporations that have decided to cut ties with members of the National Rifle Association. THAT’S how you live up to your oath of office.

Why Children Need Responsible Adult Guidance

According to a new survey released last week by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, 41% of Americans don’t know what Auschwitz was, including 2/3 of Millennials. Approximately 22% of Millennials had not heard of the Holocaust, and 41% of Millennials thought 2 million or fewer Jews were murdered during the Holocaust.

Dept. Of Idiocy

An unidentified Texas woman called the police on a man wearing an “offensive and concerning” T-shirt while playing with his children at a local playground. She told police he was “suspicious.” The shirt in question is a cop-designed, pro-Second Amendment T-shirt that features an AR-style weapon graphic and text that reads, “I’ll control my guns, you control your kids.” No word on whether the woman was charged with calling in a false complaint or receiving a mental evaluation. Texas? Really?

Seven students at an elementary school in Prince George’s County, MD, cut their wrists at school using blades from pencil sharpeners, according to officials, who then announced a ban on pencil sharpeners at the school. I am not making this up.  Sometimes “official” means “recognized idiot.”

The Only Ones

FFL holder and former LEO Michael Fox, 69, of Georgetown, TX, along with two co-conspirators, has been charged with a bunch of federal gun violations including possessing and transferring unregistered machine guns (off-the-books Miniguns) and unlawfully exporting firearms to Mexico.

You’re On Your Own (YOYO)

Crenshanda Williams, 44, a former 911 operator in Houston, TX, was sentenced to jail time after being found guilty of interfering with emergency telephone calls after she “systematically” hung up on “thousands” of calls during her approximately 18 months on the job. She was fired in August 2016 from Houston Emergency Center after being caught.

Remember, you’re on your own until 911 gets there, whenever that is.

DGU

Why does one “need” a modern rifle? For when five armed perps invade your home while impersonating cops. The armed victims fired about 30 rounds, killing an assailant and wounding two others.

10 Pieces of CCW Gear to Avoid Like the Devil

  7. Holsters with thin, floppy bodies

  9. Belts without backbone
  10. The gun, holster, and belt are symbiotic

10mm

John Farnam reports that the 10mm Auto pistol cartridge was “designed to fail” and is too unreliable for serious purposes. I am neither a gunsmith nor a trainer (I’m an engineer and former mechanic), but I suspect it’s the guns or perhaps the operators, not the cartridge (excepting improperly loaded rounds), that cause the problems.

Obit

USMC veteran and actor R. Lee “Gunny” Ermey, SSgt. USMC (Ret.), died last weekend at the age of 74. Gunny (an honorary rank bestowed by the USMC after his retirement) was also an NRA board member and a representative for Glock. Thank you for your service, rest in peace, and Ooh-Rah!, Gunny.

Industry News

It looks like Slide Fire Solutions (bump stock maker) is going out of business due to illegal lawsuits. SFS has the only approved patent for bump stocks.

We have a report that former Cabela’s employees and the founding family are starting a new company in Nebraska, after the Bass Pro Shops acquisition of Cabela’s resulted in gutting the Cabela’s headquarters staff to eliminate duplicate or unneeded positions. The new company will focus exclusively on online sales of hunting products.

Products

MidwayUSA has NRA memberships on sale, but just through Sunday, April 22:

  • Annual: $30 instead of $40
  • 3-year: $85 instead of $100
  • 5-year: $100 instead of $140
  • Life: $600 instead of $1500

ProGunDating.com is what it looks like. CEO Laura Clark said that after using other popular online dating sites where she was constantly ridiculed about her profile picture taken at a local range with her AR-15, she decided to create the site for pro-gun people. Our report indicates that some women (not necessarily gun gals) hoped it would be a chance to find real men for a change, while some men were excited by the possibility of finding women who were just as passionate about shooting and firearms as they are.

https://gunstreamer.com/ is another YouTube alternative.

Midwest Industries has M-LOK forend/handguards for Marlin 336 and Henry 45-70 lever action rifles.

The new Surefire Fury DF flashlight uses either (1) rechargeable 18650 battery or (2) CR123 batteries for a brightness of 1,500/1,200 lumens. $200.

New 12 ga. pump defensive shotgun. $139.

Quote of the Week

“Most doctors don’t know jack diddly about guns. It’s none of your damn business. If I come in to you with stomach pain, it has nothing to do with how many guns I have or where I keep them.” — DRGO’s Dr. Arthur Przebinda

I’m willing to bet she was a California transplant. This is the problem Texas will be facing in the years to come. As more and more people that are sick and tired of the California laws leave, they bring with them the view points that created said laws.
