FBI rifle stolen
An FBI agent’s rifle was stolen from a vehicle last month at a Marriott location in Salt Lake City, UT. The rifle was reportedly in a hard case and was “tethered to a ‘truck vault.'” The story quotes the police report which says that tire skid marks, sections of rope and the rifle case’s handle was found at the scene and the vehicle’s widow frame was pulled loose from the door. The officer speculated that the window was broken, a rope was attached to the rifle case handle and to the offender’s vehicle, then the vehicle “towed” the rifle case through the window, frame and all. From the press report, it seems the agent took measures to secure the rifle.
