I got some additional input from a list member about the Boondocks Firearms Training Academy in Raymond, MS, mentioned last week (h/t Ben):

The ranges are still under construction. This will not be a “shooting club” where you can buy a membership and go shoot any time you want. It will be exclusively a teaching or training facility. Most, if not all, of the instructors are competitive shooters. (Which always makes me wonder a bit about real-world defensive training — JP)

The website lists the training courses available so far. Some are NRA certified courses. Others are more tactical oriented and taught by police or military certified trainers. The courses look a bit expensive, but our source says that based on his experience it’s “worth every penny.”
