The M17S556 Bullpup Rifle from K&M Arms is an aluminum 5.56mm/.223 bullpup rifle based on the Bushmaster M17S with a 17.5″ barrel and an adjustable drop in AR-15 trigger from Elftmann Tactical. 7.4 lbs., $1800.
The Sauer S 404 bolt rifle has a completely new manual cocking system which allows the rifle to be cocked and uncocked both comfortably and silently without working the bolt. In addition to the manual cocking feature, an automatic firing pin safety keeps the S 404 from firing when the bolt is not fully closed. The S 404 also has the Sauer Quattro trigger system, which allows the shooter to choose any of four different trigger pull weights in seconds.
The stock has a 3″ adjustment range for length of pull and a left-to-right swivel range of 5°. The SUM (Sauer Universal scope Mount), milled into the receiver, offers a low height, superior stability, and 100% return to zero.
A removable bolt head allows the owner to shoot all available calibers with a single rifle. Not counting the stock, the S 404 has 112 individual parts and 111 of them are metal (only the magazine follower is made of polymer).
All models feature a jeweled bolt and MAGLOCK magazine safety, which allows the shooter to lock the magazine release so that the magazine cannot be lost.
Models available are the Classic with a walnut stock, the Classic XT with a polymer stock with Soft Touch coating and elastomer grip panels, the Elegance with Grade 5 or better walnut stock and the Synchro XT with a thumbhole stock and adjustable comb. $3,800 and up.
