The US Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia celebrated our sacred Independence Day holiday on June 4, so as to avoid any conflict with the month-long Islamic Ramadan celebration. I am not making this up. It looks to me like it’s about time to refresh the tree of liberty.
On June 6, “Reverend” Michael Pfleger (one of those left-wing liberal nuts), joined by “Reverend” Jesse Jackson and Brady Bunch president Dan Gross, listed recent shootings in heavily gun-controlled Chicago then said the NRA “will pay pay for the murder of our children.”
But the NRA didn’t murder anyone. I tell you what, “Reverend,” a LOT more people have died from your politics than from ours.
Country music star Toby Keith continues to open new bar & grill restaurants with gun ban signs posted. I don’t buy his music or his politics.
Hinds County, MS anti-gun Sheriff Tyrone Lewis announced a “gas cards for guns” buy up this week, to be funded by anti-gun Canadian actor and wannabe deputy Dan Aykroyd. But his hand was called because that would be against state law.
This is not the first time Lewis has been afoul of the law while acting as a lawman, and he is also one of the people who unsuccessfully attempted to undermine the state’s “open carry” bill which defined open carry as, well, open, in accordance with the state constitution.
Lewis stated that the guns to be purchased were those from “people who shouldn’t have guns.” He didn’t say how he knew that those are the ones to be purchased, why they shouldn’t have guns, or why he didn’t just arrest them if they were prohibited persons. None of that is on the agenda of those engaged in the war on guns.
Meanwhile, Aykroyd the actor acted like he wasn’t anti-gun. Aykroyd and blues singer Bobby Rush are supporting the re-election of Lewis in his re-election bid. We don’t know why.
