Reminder that the new Mississippi “purse carry” law, which allows concealed carry in a bag without ANY permit, takes effect July 1. I also read this as a legal way to carry into places that the regular permit (or the enhanced permit) does not authorize. It still would not apply to federal facilities or perhaps to places which have a separate statutory prohibition (i.e., schools).

45-9-101. (24): “No license shall be required under this section for a loaded or unloaded pistol or revolver carried in a purse, handbag, satchel, other similar bag or briefcase or fully enclosed case.”
