Gun sales
The June 2015 NSSF-adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System figure of 886,825 is the highest June on record for the 17-year-old system, with an increase of 10.1% compared to the June 2014 NSSF-adjusted NICS figure of 805,571.
Burglars
Burglars are getting bolder. They used a saw to cut through a brick wall at a gas station in Pearl, MS; while in Spring, TX (near Houston), a suspect bashed into a gun shop with a backhoe.
Also in Houston, TX, this week, a man was shot in the head and critically wounded while he and two accomplices were “allegedly” trying to break into Class 3 Weapons (a machine gun dealer) near north Houston.
FYI, most homeowner’s insurance policies have VERY limited coverage for guns.
Gators
A Texas man was killed by a large alligator during a late-night swim at a Southeast Texas private marina in Orange County along a bayou extending from the Sabine River near the Louisiana line. An 11 ft., 400 lb. alligator game officials say was later shot and killed without a permit has been identified as the culprit. The men who illegally killed the gator will not be charged with a crime.

A 69-year-old man was seriously injured by a homemade cannon on July 4 in Newton, NH. according to authorities. He was flown to a hospital with a 3-inch head wound. We don’t know if that’s 3″ across (I presume), or 3″ deep.
