A representative for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, which is interested in purchasing the bankrupt Colt company, gave this great line:
“For Colt’s Native American suitors, it’s not just business; it’s history, interest and commitment, their attorney said. “We have gone to great lengths to get our hands on Colts,” he said. “Just ask General Custer.”
(The Morongo Band of Mission Indians consists of just over 1,100 members, whose businesses employ 3,000 people in California’s Coachella Valley region, and contributes an estimate of more than $2.8 billion into the local economy.)
