We warned weeks ago about ISIS terrorists using social media (Facebook, twitter, etc.) to identify and target the families of US service members and LEOs. But apparently most of those public servants have not taken heed and keep right on posting pictures and identifying information online in public places, putting their loved ones at risk.
In fact, DoD, USA, USAF, USCG, USMC, and USN installations (including ships), among others, all maintain elaborate and revealing websites that plainly tell our enemies just about everything that they would want to know about personnel and units. Ditto for most LE departments, federal, state and local. We’re doing much of their work for them!
We now have a SECOND DHS and FBI warning that active-duty AND retired LE and military personnel should not expose on-line profiles openly.
You may be a tough-ass Navy SEAL or something, but that won’t help much when you’re in ISISistan and they kill your daughter, wife or niece back home. Don’t say you weren’t warned. If you are a relative of LE or military personnel, do your best to “unfriend” them and sever public online connections.
ISIS is serious. We are not.
