Apparently Kamala’s gun has been found.

Administration
- ATF is continuing to clean house. They’re gonna need a bulldozer for that.
- Yes, they are out to get you. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard declassified documents from the Biden administration Wednesday, revealing how “domestic terrorism” was used as a pretext to attempt to curb gun rights and target “misinformation.”
- DOJ cancels grants for gun-violence and addiction prevention, victim advocacy. You don’t even need to justify it as cutting wasteful spending. Just challenge bellyachers to point to the clause in the Constitution authorizing any branch of government to involve itself in these areas.

Litigation

- Without Warning, Cop Kills Armed Good Samaritan. Case study.
- A three-judge panel for the US First Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously held that Massachusetts’ ban on the sale of evil black rifles and standard capacity magazines is constitutional, because banning guns the state doesn’t like “is consistent with the Nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation, and found that the ban posed a limited burden on self-defense because the plaintiffs failed to “demonstrate a single instance where the AR-15 – or any other banned weapon – has actually been used in a self-defense scenario.” (1) That ain’t in the Constitution, (2) Yes, it has happened a bunch of times, and (3) If you ban something, it’s less likely to be used. We note that the state’s “expert” witness in this case provided multiple profoundly false testimonies about guns.
- The US Supreme Court on Monday declined to take up Minnesota’s request to revive its ban on concealed carry permits for young adults under 21. That means a lower court’s ruling – striking down the age-based restriction as unconstitutional – stands. The case, Worth v. Jacobson, was brought by a coalition of young adults and major gun rights groups, who challenged a Minnesota law that prohibited otherwise law-abiding adults aged 18 to 20 from carrying firearms for self-defense in public.
- A mom is suing a Missouri school for suspending her 13-year-old son after he arranged cans of Dr. Pepper in the shape of a rifle and posted a photo of the creation on Snapchat. Apparently nothing related to the art project had any connection whatsoever to the school. I bet she wins.

- California. Thanks to a preliminary injunction in the Second Amendment Foundation’s case CRPA v. LASD, as of Tuesday, April 22, non-resident SAF members can apply for a California carry permit. The injunction requires that California accept permit applications from any US resident outside the state who is a member of SAF or its partner organizations and not prohibited from possessing firearms. SAF was joined in the case by the California Rifle & Pistol Association, Gun Owners of America, Gun Owners Foundation, Gun Owners of California and several private citizens.
Lies, Da**ed Lies and Studies
- A laughable “study” by Christopher M. Worsham and Charles F. Bray of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital and published in the British Medical Journal, claims that “firearm incidents” jump by 12.3% when deer hunting season begins in US states where hunting is popular. They say that not only did hunting-related incidents increase dramatically (up 566%) during the opener, as expected, but that suicides involving firearms rose 11.1%, incidents involving alcohol or other substances jumped 87.5%, and domestic violence incidents increased by 27.4%. Further, they claimed increases defensive use of firearms (up 27.8%), home invasions or robberies involving firearms (30.4% increase). They then concluded – apparently without any actual evidence – that the cause of the alleged increases was the increased availability of guns during hunting seasons. I’m calling BS on this one.
- News headlines across the country repeated a University of Colorado public health “study” claiming that “1 out of every 15 American adults have been at a mass shooting.” That figure suggests 18 million Americans have witnessed a mass shooting firsthand and 5.6 million were “injured.”
NRA Questions & Meeting
- Good ones.
- This was posted quite a bit late:
State News
- Colorado’s new law bans the manufacture, sale or purchase of semi-automatic long guns that accept detachable magazines, some extended-mag tactical shotguns and gas operated semi-automatic handguns and creates an “eligibility card” (government permission slip) requirement for purchasers of some firearms.
- The report says there are 147 gun manufacturers in Colorado at the moment, placing it among the top ten states in the industry. I look for this law to be struck down by the federal courts as has repeatedly happened with similar laws.
- Iowa has lowered the minimum age to legally carry a concealed firearm and the age below which it becomes illegal to sell a used gun to another person to 18 years.
- Most Dangerous Places in the US in 2024-2025. Interesting that Chicago didn’t make the cut.
The Only Ones
- Milwaukee, WI, Police Officer Vashaun Young, 36, has been criminally charged for doing drive-by shootings at houses during his off-duty hours. Really.
- When asked to explain what happened, the unidentified Denver Police Officer said, “I mistakenly thought the trigger was a release for the revolver’s cylinder.”
- FBI corruption.

- You’ve heard about the deadly shooting on the Florida State University Tallahassee campus last Thursday, perpetrated by a deputy sheriff’s 20-year-old son using her retired service handgun. Apparently he did the shootings with the handgun after a shotgun he attempted to use jammed. Gun free zone.

- Sig P320. Tactical Defense Institute has banned all versions of the Sig P320 pistol from its classes. It seems law enforcement training centers have also started banning the firearms at their schools.
- We also hear that Sig has added a line in the manual for the P320 reading: “THE MOST EFFECTIVE SAFETY IS TO CARRY YOUR PISTOL WITHOUT A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER, AND TO LOAD A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER WHEN READY TO FIRE.” [emphasis in original] With a few exceptions, that’s a really really really dumb idea for a defensive weapon.
