The Lynden Pioneer Museum in northern Washington state plans to remove about a dozen borrowed firearms from a World War Two exhibit and return them to their owners to comply with the state’s new gun control law that requires background checks for all gun “transfers.”

Washington voters passed legislation earlier this month expanding background checks on all firearms purchases to include sales at guns shows and online, as well for loans and transfers.

In other words, if you’re out hunting with your buddy and you hold his shotgun while he crosses a fence, without having a background check done for the “transfer,” you’re breaking the law.
