George Zimmerman, who was forced to kill Trayvon Martin when Martin attempted to murder him, is suing Martin’s family, former Zimmerman prosecutors, and Harper Collins, which published a book written by Martin family attorney Ben Crump. Zimmerman is reportedly seeking $100 million in civil damages and alleging defamation, malicious prosecution, abuse of civil process, and conspiracy, claiming he was defamed when they allowed a witness to give false testimony in an attempt to incriminate him. Zimmerman is also alleging an imposter witness. Justice.
Ruger is suing S&W & Thompson/Center to block sales of the Thompson T/CR22 rifle, saying it’s infringing on the Ruger 10/22 design. Ruger claims the T/CR22 receiver is the same length and width as the Ruger and has similar locations for safeties, bolt locks and trigger releases, and the T/CR22 rifle is adaptable to the hundreds of after-market 10/22 parts.

Anti-gun Moslem Pennsylvania State Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell (D-Philadelphia) has been indicted on charges including two counts of theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, perjury, two counts of tampering with public records, and reporting by candidates and political committees. The PA Attorney General’s Office says Johnson-Harrell will be pleading guilty and will resign from office effective December 13th. Perhaps not coincidentally, Johnson-Harrell was elected in a special election in March to replace Rep. Vanessa Lowery Brown (D-Philadelphia), who resigned from office in December 2018 after being sentenced for bribery and other charges.
The Charles Schwab charitable fund has declared it will no longer release grants from its donor-advised funds to charities or nonprofits affiliated with the National Rifle Association.
The NRA ran an anti-Michael Bloomberg ad on Bloomberg.com. Go figure.
Gun-banning Democrat presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg is pledging to appoint pro-gun control judges if elected, and says his agenda also includes banning black rifles; requiring everyone to obtain a government permission slip before purchasing a firearm; instituting a national red-flag law to allow the government to seize guns from those whom the government deems a threat to themselves or others; banning full-capacity magazines; setting a minimum age of 21 to buy handguns, semi-automatic rifles and shotguns; requiring a 48-hour waiting period before all gun purchases even when the FBI background check is clean; temporarily(?) banning gun possession for those convicted of assault and other violent crimes; and overturning the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. Bloomberg has also pledged $50 million to support Everytown for Gun Safety, an organization he helped found in 2014 to promote gun bans.

Department of Idiocy
Ronald Cyr, 65, equipped his Van Buren, Maine, home with numerous “unknown devices” apparently intended to protect it, including a boobytrap designed to fire a handgun at anyone opening the front door. He was fatally shot by it Thanksgiving Day. Don’t be stupid.
And this one. This chick is so profoundly stupid that I just don’t have the vocabulary to adequately describe her. Suffice it to say that “life insurance” is really “death insurance” or “survivor insurance.” You have to die so someone else can collect. Not much of a solution.
“These are not my pants” not valid excuse, police say.
The Only Ones
US Customs and Border Protection officer Dudley Bernard, 40, has been charged with fatally shooting his wife Chauntelle, also a CBP employee, multiple times in the back of the head at their League City, Texas, home on Thanksgiving day. Bernard allegedly told the 911 operator that he had “accidentally shot his wife.”
Constable Musudul Rehman of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (IPBP) in India opened fire on his comrades in the central state of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, shooting seven of his colleagues, killing five of them, before shooting himself.
10-year veteran Detroit Police Sgt. Ronald Kidd was suspended with pay for not responding to the shooting of two officers that resulted in the death of a 16-year veteran officer last month. Kidd was previously fired from the department for cowardliness for not intervening or calling for help while his female partner was assaulted by an arrestee, but got his job back. If they won’t respond to protect each other, what makes you think they’re going to protect you?

San Diego – Federal agents on Friday arrested former San Diego County sheriff’s Capt. Marco Garmo, accused of running an illegal gun trafficking business, and sheriff’s Lt. Fred Magana pleaded guilty to helping him.
An unidentified Las Cruces, NM school resource officer “accidentally” fired his duty-issued handgun in his office at Picacho Middle School this week, striking a wall.
A 22-year-old enlisted active duty US sailor (who undoubtedly underwent a background check) whose submarine was docked at Pearl Harbor opened fire on three civilian employees on the base Wednesday, killing two and then took his own life. Gun Free Zone. The Navy says it will evaluate whether security should be upgraded. Word is that authorities believe the sailor used his service weapons in the attack.
Breaking news, subject to change – Early reports state that an attacker opened fire at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola Friday morning in a shooting that left at least three people dead, plus the assailant, who was reportedly killed by sheriff’s deputies, both of whom were wounded. At least 7 other wounded victims were transported to hospitals. Gun Free Zone.

NICS checks
The 2019 Black Friday NICS checks (unadjusted) totaled 202,465, an 11% increase from last year and falling barely short of the all-time single-day record of 203,086 in 2017. It seems to me that the adjustment calculation to estimate how many actual gun sales likely result from the raw NICS check numbers would be a bit different on Black Friday than on most other days, because that is a big, big shopping day, meaning a higher percentage of folks than usual are buying and fewer are getting the checks for license applications, etc. We also understand that a couple hundred thousand NICS checks per year are never completed by the FBI.
NSSF: Gun numbers now over 400 million; violent crime down by 48.6% and unintentional firearm-related fatalities down by 68%.

I recently acquired and tested a new Chip McCormick CMC Railed Power Mag, 10-round, for the 1911 .45 Auto. I had numerous failures to feed from the mag in a high-end gun that worked with the same ammo in other magazines. My 8-round version of this CMC RPM works fine.
